Some of the activities that helped Jenna prepare to take the PMP exam are:

  • Augment the study of the PMBOK with project management books. Rita Mulcahy and Andy Crowe were authors specifically mentioned.
  • Take a class through the local PMP chapter. The class Jenna took lasted about three months and provided both instruction as well as study partners which helped facilitate the learning process.
  • Be persistent as you study.
  • Study sample tests, for instance there are websites that have sample tests you can take to help practice for the test.

Jenna also shared her experiences as she became a project manager. She also discussed her recent role as product owner as the company she works for is beginning to use Scrum as an agile development methodology.
